Reuters on June 10 reported Russell Vought's acting director of the White House Budget and Management Office sent a letter of request on June 4. The reason for the delay is to "ensure the enforcement of the ban is effective, without affecting security goals".
According to Reuters, Washington has banned a series of federal agencies and contractors using government money to buy Huawei products because of national security risks.
Huawei is currently the world's leading technology manufacturer of telecommunications equipment. The group has repeatedly denied accusations of spying for the Chinese government of the United States.
The letter explaining the current schedule of barriers to Huawei will make the US government "lose a significant amount" of its contractors.
