Although it has been 17 years, the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks are still painful for the United States. Surely the American people can not forget that 102 minutes, 102 minutes changed the history of America. 2,983 victims died, firefighters took 3 months to extinguish all fires. After cleaning up 1.4 million tons of debris from buildings destroyed in the September 11 terrorist attacks, authorities found 19,435 bodies of victims buried in the rock. The worst terror of US history has caused great damage to people and property.
New York, Tuesday, September 11, 2001, a fresh morning of autumn. A normal day at the World Trade Center. Then, at 8:46 am, a loud explosion resounded, American Airlines' No. 11 plane crashed on floors 93 to 99 of the north tower. The tower swaying, sirens sound loud, lights off. People come out of the office and see what happens. Crying and screaming everywhere. Then 17 minutes, United Airlines' 175 aircraft crashed into the 75th to 85th floors of the southern tower.
102 minutes of painful victims
Thousands of people were in the tower at the time, not knowing what was going on. Thousands of calls and emails are sent in the last minutes of the historic tower. Those who have not returned yet, have responded with love and concern to their families, in tears, in despair and in the shock of not knowing what happened to their city. No one knows how they died, burned, smoked, jumped out of the building as hopelessly as the "Falling Man" man in the famous photo. Or simply wait for the huge tower to collapse just below your feet.
Within a fraction of a second, thousands of people turn to victims of one of the worst terrorist attacks in American history. Then the two towers collapsed completely. The American icon disappears after 102 minutes. The Al-Qaeda terrorists are the masterminds for the 9/11 attacks. In particular, the jihad against the United States by Osama bin Laden, leader of al-Qaeda, is considered the largest motive leading to the suicide attack of 19 hijackers. There are many reasons people have come up to find out why this terrorist is. No matter what the real cause, the pain that American people suffer is never calmed down.
Forced to choose death
Still 40% of the victims have not identified the identity, which is the same thought they have not been to the family. Those who were in the building at the time, were forced to choose for themselves the painful deaths. The haunting "choice to die" in the persecution, the forever-forgotten image of the witnesses. Event 11-9 remains beyond the tolerance of many. They are ending their lives without being selected. Most of them jumped from the north tower, possibly because the fire was fiercer, concentrating on the lower floors. While some people try to use curtains or tablecloths to make parachutes, a couple have chosen to clasp hands on the ground.
Perhaps most tragic is the identity of those who died from jumping to the ground has yet to be determined because the authorities could not find or recognize their bodies. They do not choose death but choose the way to die. I completely burst into tears before the picture was recorded, the loss was too great. leaving a big scar for America. The United States is about to commemorate the terrorist attack that shocked the nation on September 11, 2001. The consequences of the terrorist attacks on September 11 may not be fully disclosed for several decades. However, for millions of Americans, that fateful fall day has changed everything.
Heartbreaking numbers on September 11
Both 110-story towers have collapsed, nearly 3,000 displaced permanently, and 6,000 injured, leaving 1,300 children orphaned. It is estimated that the number of people in New York suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder due to the Sept. 11 terror attacks reached 422,000. These heartbreaking numbers will be for us forever never to forget. The location of the twin towers has not been rebuilt yet, but has become the two reservoirs of the memorial. On the pedestals of these two lakes, there were 2,983 victims killed in the September 11 terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center. I just hope that the remaining 1,640 victims will be identified, bringing them back to the family. So that we can take away some of that pain. I pray for the victims!
