As an Indigenous person, I thank you for wearing this Caucasians shirt. If they don’t like it how do they think it feels having a literal slur for your race being a team name & a red-faced person as its mascot? It dehumanizes us. Mascot literally means an animal (pet) in Spanish & Latin. I agree with ya. But in cases, people are going to find the “Caucasians” shirt offensive just like if it said “African Americans” some would be offended as well. They’re either all acceptable or none of them are. It’s amazing how white people are so deep in cognitive dissonance that when a PoC wears a Caucasians shirt without a disrespectful logo saying “Caucasians” they get upset, but when we’re reduced to a caricature and they wear dollar store war bonnets on their heads that’s “totally okay.”. It blows my mind that folks can’t see why “redskins” is inappropriate, yet lose their shit over “Caucasians.” Also, where can I buy this shirt? / What are the politics of me (a vanilla of white dude from Oakland) wearing one? That shirt is made and worn to get a reaction and to cause further divide rather than bring people together. This sort of pettiness doesn’t fix or contribute to solving racism.

No. It’s not intended to be ironic. I agree with an earlier tweet that Wash. Caucasians shirt, worn by a Caucasian would create the wrong message. I bought a Kaepernick shirt and wear it waiting for comments about flag and military to have the discussion about why the players REALLY kneel. If you’re going to troll people you gotta sit back and enjoy the outrage, not be shocked that people are more outraged than expected. People aren’t bothered by “redskins” because it wasn’t intended to be offensive, contrary to the shirt. It’s as if intent matters.  Very Simple: If there was previously a team named “Caucasians” or a NEW team named “Caucasians” white people would laugh or support the team. When a guy walks around with a RANDOM “Caucasians” shirt on, it is NOT at all the same as “Redskins”.
