I don’t see anything that suggests chow. Literally, none of their standout traits (fat purple tongue, pointed ears, nappy fur, short snout) look present.

If this dog has a general disinterest in doing what you ask, then you might guy have a little chow in there. We have a chow mix (~1/4 chow based on a genetic test) and he actually looks a lot like this dog. His temperament has some chow-like features (single-person bonded, protective and guarding), but plenty of non-chow features (extremely playful and friendly with his humans- the opposite of aloof).
