So I just pretended Christmas was nothing. But I’m not even religious anymore and I miss the musical Christmas services where they just sing and rejoice. But…we didn’t do a tree ever. The one year I asked my in-laws to do a tree as we were visiting, they “were excited” until it came to actually do it and tried to cry off using my Nana dying as a reason.

That’s so sweet! You know what I think you might love? Here in Germany, it’s traditional to hand make advent calendars. I always found Christmas crushingly lonely. If we get it we can do all the decorations ever. I’m rather excited about it.

About 6 years ago we started to have a small party near Christmas with a gift exchange, games, real dinner, etc. Grinch You Smell Drama Please Get Away From Me Shirt. It’s grown over the years to include many of the expats.
