I went to stay with her for a fortnight after my stoma op last year. I couldn’t wait to get back into my own space where I could relax without feeling judged. One morning, 10 days or so after my op, my stoma bag sprung a huge leak – the first one I’d had to deal with & it was horrible. Mess everywhere and I still couldn’t bend down properly to try & sort it out! Mum was shopping (only about 10 minutes away) so I rang her for help. I was quite upset. She did come back but she was pretty horrible to me.
