Eventually, every country needs to be vaccinated, and Biden has stated publically that if the US has extra vaccines - that is, more vaccines than are needed for every US citizen - then he’ll give the extras to ally countries. Trump ran heavily on an America First/isolationist policy. It has badly, badly hurt America’s image in the eyes of pretty much every other nation on the planet. One of Biden’s campaign promises was that he’d help rebuild the country’s image, and in addition to things like rejoining the Paris Climate Accords, giving away extra vaccines is a really smart diplomatic move. So yes, Biden is giving away vaccines to other countries. But he’s still the US president, and that means he’s helping his own citizens first - the vaccines that are going to foreign aid are the ones that wouldn’t be used otherwise. And speaking as a citizen of one of those foreign countries, let me tell you, I’m glad America’s on its way back.
