Certainly, I still prefer punk devices like punk, but punk is about making a statement. Be frank and visually. Maybe about the man, who broke your heart, your boss, the tax.

Punk or not – you have to bring it to the mainstream. Unfortunately, the only way to attract people’s attention, and God knows punk has a great statement when it starts. My point is – I personally do not like to say “men invented x, women y” it’s never black and white, right? Of course, there is discrimination in punk, hell – there is discrimination in the gay community! It should not come as a surprise that a subculture should initially be in your face and capable of being actively dominated by brutes. Where are these bastards going? Anyone can play better Sid Vicious – that’s the best punk song I ever read!

In addition to being a woman (a straight white woman, mind you lol) in a rock band she did very little “for feminism” in my opinion. Savages are punk? That’s new, I would say they are punk. And the good thing about them is that I mentioned above – now they are the mainstream and their message is being brought to the public. And that is very important for women in rock!
